MotorStorm RC Empty
PostSubject: MotorStorm RC   MotorStorm RC Icon_minitimeTue Dec 13, 2011 10:59 pm

The MotorStorm franchise has a long history of fierce competitive races, fiery wrecks, and enough nitrous to make even the most adrenaline-riddled racer blush. But sometimes even the most serious of us need to take a break and enjoy the little things. Enter MotorStorm RC, a PSN downloadable playable across both the Vita and the PlayStation 3. Featuring adorable remote controlled cars and comically realistic environments, MotorStorm RC takes a drastic turn away from the traditions of one of Sony's flagship racers.

Getting started in MotorStorm RC couldn't be simpler. Watch the action from overhead as a bunch of RC cars buzz around tracks set in the various MotorStorm environments. Beat the competition to the finish in a regular race, or race the ghosts of previous racers and hunt for the best possible lap. If those don't strike you, jump into a pursuit race to overtake others, or hug the walls in an all-drifting match. Decisions!

While split-screen multiplayer only comes with the PlayStation 3 version, the Vita has plenty to offer the competitive space. Welcome to the Pit Wall, which functions much like Need for Speed's Autolog technology. The Pit Wall tracks the scores and ghost runs of all your friends and other MotorStorm RC players. If your friend steals your seat at the top you can boot up the Vita and reclaim your high score. Then when you get home from your commute you can load up your progress on the PlayStation 3 and keep on rolling.

16 tracks and a 64 event festival mode led me to believe that MotorStorm RC will pack in plenty of things to do, all while keeping with the simple fun of RC car racing. If the MotorStorm devotees (and other racing fans) embrace this RC spinoff and the Pit Wall erupts with activity, this could be the kind of game you always keep on hand.
